New agreement on the gas supply for the Swinoujscie LNG terminal
The agreement reached by the Polish Oil and Gas
Company (PGNiG) and Qatargas, postponing the date for LNG supplies PGNiG, is
beneficial from the point of view of country’s energy security. New agreement strongly
reduces the risk of the costs related to PGNiG’s missed loads.

More EU funds to support Polish development
“Operational
Programme "Infrastructure and Environment", adopted by the European
Commission for the period 2014-2020, is the largest source of funding for the
Polish investment in transport infrastructure, environmental protection, energy
and low-carbon economy” stresses the
head of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development, Maria Wasiak, in an official
statement from the ministry. The funds, except already mentioned purposes, will
serve projects related to health care and culture. Its total budget amounts to
over 27.4 billion euro, which is approx. 115 billion zloty.

Poland and Ukraine: ambitious plans of co-operation

Kulczyk, Polish millionaire leading energy company Polenergia, has very ambitious plans of co-operation with Ukraine. He plans to build a pipeline
enabling transportation of gas to Ukraine from Western Europe and a grid that
would transport electricity from Ukraine elsewhere.

Households charged abnormally high electricity bills, due to the untruthful data collecting
A few
customers in Pomorskie Voivodeship have faced difficult electricity bill to
swallow. Few households received a bill that equaled to 500 % of its average
value. The case has been reported to the electricity provider in this region
(Energa) and it seems that the responsible for this mistake are data
collectors.

Poles are changing electricity provider more often than before
Energy
Regulatory Office reports that in the first 10 months of 2014 the electricity
delivered to the customers who changed the provider exceeded previous years
significantly, being equal to 45,4 TWh. That clearly means that Poles are more
proactive in “taking care of their wallet” and are making an effort to reduce
their electricity bill by choosing more profitable solution.

Over a week ago, Poland celebrated unusual
anniversary. December 2, 1853, Polish pharmacist, Jan Zeh received a patent for
the distillation of crude oil. This inventor was one of the pioneers of the oil
exploration in Europe, if not all over the world.

There is no danger of gamma radiation in Poland
Spokesperson of the Polish National Nuclear Agency calms the public, stating that there is
absolutely no danger in gamma radiation in Poland. The media raised the issue
of radioactivity after information of problems faced by nuclear power
generation unit in Ukraine, located approx. 700 km from Polish border.
