EINSTEIN research project to lower energy bill in Polish hospital
Psychiatric Hospital of Zabki, in the Mazowieckie
Voivodeship ( province of Mazowieckie, where capital of Poland is located) will
implement new innovative project aiming at reducing electricity bills. The
hospital will install system of solar panels to partially cover their
electricity and heat demand.
On September 26,2014 at the Office of the Marshal of Mazowieckie Voivodeship, board of the Mazowieckie Energy Agency signed an
agreement to cooperate in the implementation of the experimental installation ( partially still at research state ) EINSTEIN with the management of Zabki psychiatric hospital.
The research project EINSTEIN (Effective Integration of
Seasonal Thermal Energy Storage systems in buildings), in which the MAE (
Mazowiecka Agencja Energetyczna; Eng.: Mazowieckie’ Energy Agency) is one of
the partners, was among top 10 projects in
Europe, aiming at reduction of energy bills via usage of RES (renewable energy
resources). As a result, project received funding from the 7th Framework
Programme of the EU. The scheme is considered as “pilot project”, which has been developed in order to meet new
guidelines aiming to reduce energy consumption in buildings of public interest.
Implementation of the project has already started in
October, what will result in investments involving installation of equipment
and planning of usage of renewable energy in the cycle year-round (including
STES tray, installation of solar collectors, heat pump).
* Hospital in Zabki is one of the oldest psychiatric hospitals in Poland, with many highly qualified professionals. It was the first psychiatric hospital having patient's board that is involved in the process of patients' recovery, as well as acting as advocacy in case of mistreatment.
