Lignite-fired Turow power plant (owned by PGE) with the capacity of 430-540 MW is going to be built by the consortium led by Hitachi Power Europe. It is estimated that the investment will be closed at 3.997 billion zlotys( 959 million euro ) what was the winning offer over Doosan who offered the same services for 4.012 billion zlotys. It has been second tender opened by PGE, who cancelled the first one due to very high offers participating in tender.
The built unit will have 43 % of the efficiency and should be completed within 56 months from the issued notice to proceed. The unit that is supposed to be built by Hitachi will partially replace decommissioning unit 8-10 (618 MW) of Turow Power Plant in Bogatynia (Southwest Poland), of total capacity of 1 699 MW.
