Szczecin introduced revolutionary solution for the supply of electrcity for institutions of public good. Schools, theaters, museums and hospitals plan to buy electricity as a group (and then dispatch it according to the needs) with hope to lower electricity bill.

As the press has been informed, Szczecin's Department of Water and Sewage will act as the lead customer for the group, which includes not only the institutions listed above, but also Trams of Szczecin ( company handling public transportation using trams),  Seaports of Szczecin and Swinoujscie, the Port of Gdynia and the Port of Gdańsk.

The group will negotiate the purchase of energy for all of its stakeholders in 2015 and intends to buy a total of approximately 167 GWh.

A similar procedure has been carried out in 2013, by Szczecin's Department of Water and Sewage and Trams of Szczecin, introducing lower electricity prices in 2014 that brought savings of around 800 thousand zł (approx. 200 thousand euro) - highlights a company spokesman Tomasz Makowski.
