Poland will invest 23 million zlotys in development of the electricity transmission network
Onet.pl informs about the statement Minister of
Economy has made – it is planned that until 2025 Poland will spend close to 23
million zlotys (roughly 4,5 million euro) for the extension of electricity transmission networks.
Such steps taken should ensure country’s energy security and lack of the
dependence on other countries.
The Minister of Economy explained that Poland will invest in new
plants and the expansion and
modernization of the elderly. What is also of high importance is the reduction of
energy consumption, which could save
about 500 MW.
According to Janusz Piechocinski ( the
Minister of Economy), it is very important to currently concentrate on
development of the well-functioning transmission network on the internal level,
as well as building up better connections with the state’s neighbors. The most
attention comes at the moment to connection between Lithuania and Poland, but
also those of borders with Germany and Czech Republic should become more
adaptable to future situation.
At the moment, Polish transmission system
consists of 245 lines with a total length of 13 445 km, including:
- 1 line of 750 kV with a length of 114 km,
- 77 lines of 400 kV with a total length of 5 383 km,
- 167 lines with a voltage of 220 kV with a total length of 7 948 km,
- 101 station high voltage (LV)
- Offshore call 450 kV DC Poland - Sweden with a total length of 254 km.
