Eco Energy Summit 2015
Past
week, Rzeszow hosted Eco Energy Summit 2015, one of the most important economic
events relating to the energy sector. European and national opinion leaders, representatives of business and government, activists and entrepreneurs - they all met in one place to discuss the current affairs of Polish energy sector.
Eco Energy Summit is one of the most
important economic events in the Polish energy sector, involving European and
national opinion leaders, representatives of the central and local governments,
as well as a wide range of experts and executives the most important companies
in the energy sector in Poland and the European Union. The conference is
organized by the one of the most respected Polish opinion-making newspaper
“Rzeczpospolita” and had an honorary patronage of the president of the Energy
Regulatory Office Maciej Bando.
The conference lasted three days and
covered all the areas of energy sector that might be of an interest of the
business and the governmental institutions. Starting from the renewables,
through exploration of natural resources, necessary investments in the sector,
finishing on the climate package of EU, the discussions aimed to cover all the
areas that relate to the current affairs.
To give an idea what sort of discussions
have been raised, we sum up a few of pursued panels:

The President of the Energy Regulatory
Office, Maciej Bando, took part in the discussion. His opinion as the
representative of the policy-making body in the sector is very relevant, as it
enables other participant to speculate the development of policies and co-operation
that the government will try to establish in the coming years. Bando, in his
presentation, drew attention to the need to strengthen collected propensity to
invest in the energy sector. Furthermore, adoption of the decree setting out Polish
energy policy horizon up to 2050 should be accompanied by more detailed
tactical and operational programs, including investment impulses for all energy

- Malgorzata Szymanska – Ministry of Economy, Oil and Gas Exploration Department
- Krzysztof Zamasz – ENEA Poland, Member of Board of Directors
- Grzegorz Wiśniewski – President of the Institute of Renewable Energy

Unfortunately, there are not available
any materials yet regarding the outcome of the discussions (some of which could be
very interesting to predict the way the power market could develop in the
following years), but once something is published – we will inform about it on

Definitely,
Eco Energy Summit is a conference that should be on the agenda of anyone
interested in the Polish Energy Sector, regardless the area of interest.
